Management Team
Directed Capital has extensive experience in mortgage acquisitions, distressed debt workouts, management and administration and employs personnel with the technical qualifications and industry experience to identify, acquire, manage and dispose of assets in complex circumstances. Since its inception, Directed Capital has managed in excess of $500 million of assets held in commercial real estate loan portfolios. The management of Directed Capital has effectively demonstrated their collective ability to mitigate risk and achieve high levels of investment yield in connection with its mortgage acquisition ventures.
Christopher S. Moench, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Moench is a founder of Directed Capital. Prior to founding Directed Capital, he was a Senior Investment Manager with WRH Mortgage, Inc., an affiliate of William R. Hough and Co. He has over 21 years experience in mortgage acquisitions and workouts, and real estate development and investing. He also has extensive contacts in the secondary market for commercial real estate loans, the investment banking community, and the commercial real estate industry, bringing to our company unique opportunities for loan acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Moench received his Master of Business Administration from Emory University in Atlanta. He also holds a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License, Florida Mortgage Broker License and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Neil W. Savage, Chairman
Mr. Savage is a founding investor in Directed Capital. He retired in 2008 as Chairman of Synovus Bank and continues as a member of its Board of Directors. Prior to that he served as Chairman and CEO of United Bank, which he formed in 1986. In 2003, United Bank was acquired by Synovus Financial Corp.
Stacy J. Ames, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Ames is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining Directed Capital in 2002, she was an audit manager with Gregory, Sharer, and Stuart, PA, one of the largest regional public accounting firms in the state of Florida. Her 19 years of experience include managing the accounting and compliance functions for mortgage banking companies, auditing and consulting with a variety of businesses in the financial services industry, and accounting for and preparing for sale real estate joint ventures and collateralized mortgage obligations held by the southeast region of the Resolution Trust Company. Ms. Ames received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Iowa.
Lance B. Amano, Senior Vice President
Prior to joining Directed Capital in 2004, Mr. Amano was a senior manager in secondary market commercial mortgage acquisitions and workouts. He has 19 years experience in mortgage banking and real estate, predominantly with California lending institutions. He has an extensive network in the secondary mortgage market, which brings unique opportunities for loan acquisitions and dispositions. His experience includes mortgage acquisitions and workouts, managing commercial real estate portfolios, and resolving special assets. Mr. Amano received a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University.
Nick Griffin, Senior Vice President
Prior to joining Directed Capital in 2010, Mr. Griffin served as the Chief Financial Officer for a large multi-state insurance company with over $500 million in revenues. Prior to that, Mr. Griffin served over 10 years as the Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded Florida insurance company. Mr. Griffin has experience with the capital markets as well as significant experience with financial modeling and risk management. Mr. Griffin received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida, an M.B.A. from Stetson University and a Juris Doctorate from Stetson College of Law.
Michael P. McGinn, Senior Vice President
Prior to joining Directed Capital in 2006, Mr. McGinn was Senior Vice President and Loan Portfolio Manager with Wells Fargo Foothill, Inc. He has 25 years banking experience in commercial asset based lending, credit administration, loan portfolio management and special asset administration. Mr. McGinn received a Post Graduate Degree in Banking from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University.
John W. Savage, Senior Vice President
Prior to joining Directed Capital in 2001, Mr. Savage was an attorney and venture capital analyst. He has 6 years experience in mortgage acquisitions and workouts, real estate investments, and property management. Mr. Savage received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law, and Bachelor of Arts from Hamden-Sydney College. Mr. Savage also holds a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License and Florida Mortgage Broker’s License.
